In recent days, mercenaries of the Turkish occupation state, under its directives and plans, have launched a large-scale attack on Aleppo and its countryside, specifically targeting the Kurdish population in the region. In response, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria declared a general mobilization, and the Syrian Democratic Forces announced a state of emergency to counter the crisis and thwart these plans.

In this context, the Armenian community in North and East Syria condemned the occupation’s schemes and its attacks on the peoples of the region.

Maria Ibrahim affirmed, “The Turkish occupation state is behind all the attacks and violations against the components of Syria, especially in the North and East Syria region.” She added that the Turkish occupation has sent its mercenaries in an attempt to seize more Syrian territory.

While emphasizing the support of Armenian youth for the SDF in confronting these attacks, Maria Ibrahim also called on international organizations to achieve a political solution that guarantees the rights of all Syrians from all components.

For his part, Emad Tatarian, Co-chair of the Armenian Social Council, stated that events on Syrian soil are taking place under international coordination and with the support of the Turkish occupation state through its mercenaries, aiming to expand its control over Syrian territories.

Tatarian stressed that the Syrian Democratic Forces, along with the People's and Women's Protection Units, are the only ones capable of protecting Syrian territories. He noted that Armenian youth are preparing to join these forces to defend the region.

Meanwhile, Lusnak Kavorian, Co-chair of the Democratic Armenian Youth Movement, pointed out that the Turkish occupation state supports mercenaries to settle them in Syrian cities. She added that the raising of the Turkish flag over Aleppo’s historic citadel is evidence that the region has been occupied by Turkey.
