On 14 March, the Iraqi capital Baghdad hosted a meeting between the Iraqi Foreign Minister, his Turkish counterpart and officials from both parties, during which several different files were discussed, including security in particular and energy and water projects.

These agreements, through which the Turkish occupying state seeks to enter Iraqi territory and to place Turkish points 40 kilometres deep, would constitute a threat to the components of the people and to the sovereignty of the Iraqi Government.

On the agreements and summits sought by the Turkish occupying state with the Iraqi Government, the sheikh of the Sabkha clan Mohammed Turki al-Sawan told ANHA's agency: "Any agreement by the Turkish occupying  state is a danger to Iraqi territory and a danger to the Iraqi people."

Muhammad Turki al-Sawan explained: "Turkey has crimes on these territories ever since, and wherever you come into it with any pretext you don't come out of it and all these arguments are flimsy. Turkey attempts to conclude veiled agreements and claims to protect borders, all of which are arguments for the occupation and annexation of more territory and its annexation to its State ".

Turkey has never been friendly with Iraq and Syria

"As Syria's clans and components, we have suffered from the actions and crimes of the Turkish occupying state on Syrian soil. Look what you have done with Afrin, Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain. You have turned them into a hotbed of terrorism and terrorists."

Al-Sawan demanded that the Iraqi people, Sheikhs and clans' notables in Iraq not be dragged behind the schemes and agreements of the Turkish occupying state, which are aimed at expanding and occupying at the expense of Syrian and Iraqi territory, and said: "Turkey has never been friendly with Iraq and Syria."

In his turn, Sheikh al-Shibal clan Ammar al-Hammi ,said: "Turkey's agreements with the Iraqi Government are signs of occupation through pressure on the Iraqi Government and the introduction of the energy and water file in order to conclude other agreements that will harm the Iraqi State and its sovereignty."

He stressed that: "Any agreement contributing to the inclusion of Turkish military forces into Iraqi territory at a depth of 40 km is a threat to Iraq and its objective is a clear occupation by the Turkish occupying state."

He went on to say, "The crimes of the Turkish occupying state on Syrian territory are proof of the intentions of the Turkish occupation of Iraq, where it claimed to be the friend of the Syrian people and today is the first enemy of the Syrian people."

He indicated that any Turkish-Iraqi agreement would be a point of transit for Iraq of the Turkish occupying state's colonial schemes.

stressed that the Iraqi people and the Iraqi Government should be aware of the seriousness of the Turkish occupying state's plans, which would not serve the Iraqi people or the interests of the Iraqi State.
