Aleppo's Newroz: Officials invited to join celebrations

The organizing committee for the Newroz celebrations in Aleppo has formally invited several representatives of the Damascus Authority, including the governor and police leadership, to attend the festivities and join the Kurdish people in their Nowruz celebrations.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, it was reported that March 21 marks Newroz, one of the most significant holidays for the Kurdish people across all four parts of Kurdistan and beyond, symbolizing freedom and victory over oppression.

In preparation for this occasion, the organizing committees for Newroz celebrations, including the committee in Aleppo, have finalized their arrangements. The committee has issued written invitations to representatives of the Damascus Authority in the city to participate in the celebration, which will take place in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.

Among those invited is Aleppo Governor Ezzam Al-Ghareeb, as well as Police Chief Ahmad Latouf. The committee has also invited community leaders, politicians, intellectuals, artists, journalists, and extended a general invitation to all components of the city.

The Newroz celebration in Aleppo is scheduled to take place at Newroz Square in the Shaqif area of Sheikh Maqsoud, commencing at 11:00 AM.
