Ahmed Al-Sharaa received today, Sunday, the final report issued by the Independent National Committee for Fact-Finding concerning the events that took place in the Syrian coast last March.

A press statement confirmed that "the committee was established to ensure a fair and safe course for Syria, free of any violations or attempts to obscure the truth." It also noted that "the report’s findings will be carefully studied to take steps that ensure accountability and prevent the recurrence of such violations, in the framework of promoting the principles of truth, justice, and the dignity of the victims."

On the other hand, Rami Abdul Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, expressed doubts about the timing of the announcement, saying: "The report on the results of investigations into the coastal massacres was delivered on the 10th of this month, but the announcement specifically today raises many suspicions and appears to be an attempt to divert attention from the crimes that are gradually being uncovered in Sweida."

It is worth noting that the situation in Sweida is witnessing rapid humanitarian and security developments amid increasing calls for independent investigations into the violations that affected hundreds of civilians in recent days.
