In a moment described as historic, leader Abdullah Ocalan, for the first time in 26 years of his captivity on Imrali Island, issued a video appeal to the people of the region. This appeal is part of the "Peace and Democratic Society" initiative he launched on February 27 of this year. His words were laden with profound political and humanitarian messages, calling for an end to conflicts and the building of a new era based on freedom, dialogue, and human dignity.

This appearance sparked widespread public outrage in the North and East Syria region, including the city of al-Hol in al-Jazira Canton. Members of the city's autonomous administration congratulated the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the Middle East on the appearance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in a video interview.

In this context, the co-chair of the al-Hol City Council, Shahin al-Haran, said: "We congratulate the Kurdish people and the people of the Middle East on this historic appearance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, through which he launched a new phase of peace and issued a historic call to dissolve the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), marking a turning point toward a future that guarantees the rights of all peoples and groups in the region."

Al-Haran added: "This appearance represents the greatest victory for the leader and the resistance fighters in the Mountains of Freedom, and it is the culmination of a long struggle that has spanned decades."

On behalf of the people of North and East Syria, he pledged to continue the path of struggle charted by the leader until complete freedom and final victory are achieved.

For her part, Khawla Saleh, a member of the Social Affairs Committee in the al-Hol Council, expressed feelings of joy and pride at the Leader's appearance at the recent meeting, stressing that his message carried a sincere call for a comprehensive solution to conflicts and wars, and for preserving the dignity and rights of all components.

She added, "This meeting is not just a media appearance, but a major victory for a struggle that began decades ago, and we will continue on this path until we achieve freedom and dignity for all peoples."

In the same context, Fadi Awad, a member of the Cultural Center in al-Hol, noted the extent of the joy that filled the residents with the appearance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in good health, emphasizing that the new phase announced by the Leader is one of peace and democratic society.

He added, "The message delivered by the Leader reflects the depth of his political and social vision, and it is a call to all the peoples of the Middle East to transcend conflicts and open a new page of brotherhood and reconciliation."

The statements concluded with unified calls to continue the struggle and draw inspiration from the spirit of steadfastness and peace that the Leader instilled in his meeting, in the hope of building a just, democratic Middle East that guarantees the freedom and dignity of all its components.
