Al-Hol Camp warns of ISIS attacks: Arson, vandalism, and violence

Al-Hol camp, which houses families of ISIS mercenaries and displaced Syrians, located south of Hasaka city in Jazira Canton, has seen a deterioration in security conditions, particularly in the so-called "migrants’ section" designated for foreign ISIS women. This section has witnessed vandalism and violence orchestrated by ISIS mercenary cells within the camp.

 In this context, Jihan Hanan, the Co-Chair of Al-Hol camp administration, told ANHA Agency: "The camp is currently experiencing significant vandalism targeting organizational centers, especially in the migrants’ section. Generally, we go through periods where crime and vandalism surge, and this period is one of the most sensitive, with an increase in violence within wives of Jihadists section."

Three Organizational Centers Burned and Looted

 Jihan Hanan added: "Three centers belonging to organizations were subjected to arson, looting, and vandalism. Despite these organizations providing services to the residents of the section, the residents there do not approve of these actions."

 She noted that relief teams were also attacked with stones, adding: "We haven’t yet identified the true motive behind these actions, but due to these hostile acts, the organizations’ activities in the section have been suspended."

Organized Physical Assaults on Women

Jihan Hanan pointed out that some women in the section are subjected to deliberate beatings, stating: "The latest incident involved a woman being struck on the head with a sharp object by the so-called Hisba in the same section. We also noticed ISIS mercenary and 'Cubs of the Caliphate' slogans written on caravans in the section."

 She cited a direct testimony from one of the assaulted women, explaining: "A short time ago, a woman was brutally beaten on the head and transferred to a medical center. Investigations revealed she was struck with a sharp object. According to her testimony, a group of women attacked her." Jihan revealed that the assault was a form of punishment by the so-called "Hisba."

Iron Tools and Molotov Cocktails

 Regarding the weapons used in the section, Jihan Hanan disclosed: "The weapons used by the mercenaries in the section are made from iron within the section, and Molotov cocktails are used in arson attacks targeting the centers."

Intense Movements and Internal Coordination

Concerning activities inside the camp, the co-chair of Al-Hol camp administration clarified: "There are intense movements by mercenaries within the camp, accompanied by clear tension. In the recent period, security forces conducted several raids targeting different parts of the camp, resulting in the arrest of a group of mercenaries."

She concluded by emphasizing that these events are part of organized and systematic operations, stating: "There are clear reasons for these movements. They don’t act randomly but follow specific signals and instructions. When organizational centers are attacked, we see large numbers of attackers involved, indicating that external mercenary cells are directing the cells inside the camp."
