Al-Hasakah Governor discusses cooperation, society service with delegation of Patriarchate of Antioch

Governor of Al-Hasakah, Eng. Nour Al-Din Ahmad, and Archimandrite Meletios Chattahi emphasized the importance of promoting the values of citizenship and national unity during a meeting held at the governorate building. The meeting discussed prospects for future cooperation and reviewed initiatives and projects aimed at serving society, strengthening civil peace, and enhancing joint work.

Al-Hasakah Governor, Nour Al-Din Ahmad, received Archimandrite Meletios Chattahi, Director General of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, at the governorate building, in the presence of a church delegation, according to the official page of the governorate on Facebook.

During the meeting, the delegation conveyed the greetings of Patriarch John X Yazigi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox, to Governor Nour Al-Din Ahmad, wishing him success in his duties.

Both sides emphasized the important national role played by the Church in consolidating the values of citizenship and national unity, contributing to strengthening civil peace, and promoting a culture of understanding and brotherhood among the various components of society.

They also discussed prospects for cooperation in the coming period and reviewed a number of projects and initiatives aimed at serving the local community and enhancing joint work in a way that serves the public interest.
