Aisha Afandi, the wife of the late leader Saleh Muslim, pledged to continue his struggle and follow in his footsteps in serving the Kurdish people, affirming that the late figure was a prominent activist and a companion of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan, whom he met several times, and before whom — as well as before the martyrs — he vowed to continue the struggle for the rights of his people.

Afandi said that Saleh Muslim began his activism in the 1980s and was known for his role in the struggle among the Kurdish and Kurdistani people, noting that his political and militant legacy will remain present among his people. She added that she is committed to continuing this path and preserving the cause to which he dedicated his life.

She also stated that he had met leader Abdullah Ocalan several times and had pledged before him and before the martyrs to continue the struggle for the rights of his people.

Aisha Afandi extended her condolences to the Kurdish and Kurdistani people and to the comrades of the late leader, stressing that his path will not stop and that new generations of Kurds will continue to follow his approach.

Member of the Presidential Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Saleh Muslim, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, in a hospital in Southern Kurdistan after suffering from illness.

His body entered Rojava today through the Semalka crossing, where thousands of people in the cities of the Jazira region, from Derik to Qamishlo, are expected to take part in the funeral ceremony and pay their last respects.
