After postponing...Newroz fire lit in Afrin, Shahba

The people of Afrin and Shahba are celebrating Newroz 2024 in the village of Allousha in the Al-Ahdath district under the slogan “Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue."

Since the morning hours, thousands of people from various villages, towns and districts of the canton and those displaced from Afrin in the camps, in their popular Kurdish uniforms have flocked to the celebration square in which pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan were hung, and the flags of the Democratic Society Movement, the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces. People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women's Protection Units (YPJ).

Male and female members of the institutions of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Afrin and Shahba participate in the celebration, along with representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria region, the Kurdish and Arab parties, and representatives of civil society institutions in the region.

The celebration began with the lighting of the Newroz fire by the families of the martyrs, after a minute of silence.

The celebration is scheduled to include speeches that begin with the message of the Afrin Liberation Forces and a series of artistic performances between “singing, theatrical, and dancing.”
