An armed group kidnapped Abdullah Habash, a resident of the village of Awaini in the countryside of Kobani, along with his wife and five children, in the Syrian area of Tal Kalakh, while they were attempting to travel from Syria to Lebanon.

The family consisting of Abdullah Habash, his wife, and their five children fell victim to deception by a smuggler who handed them over to the armed group in the Tal Kalakh area. The group demanded a ransom estimated at around $35,000 in exchange for their release.

According to sources close to the family, the relatives of the abductees managed to secure $30,000 and paid it to the kidnappers. The family has since been released and is now on its way to Kobani.
