The Education and Teaching Body of North and East Syria issued a statement today announcing an agreement with the Ministry of Education under the Damascus authority concerning the examination process for the middle and high school certificates. The statement reads:

"Since more than a decade of suffering endured by the Syrian people due to the injustice and oppression they have faced, their struggle culminated in the downfall of the tyrant Bashar al-Assad’s regime on the 8th of December of last year, marking an important turning point and a historic opportunity for the Syrian people to restore the beauty of our country, Syria, which we had long been deprived of.

In our commitment and concern for the future of our students and not wanting to waste the efforts they have invested throughout the academic year, the Education and Teaching Body of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria took the initiative to fulfill its responsibility towards our dear students by continuing the educational process in schools, including those that were previously under the old regime. In line with the duties entrusted to it, the Body communicated with UNICEF to discuss the examination process for the middle and high school certificates with the Ministry of Education of the Transitional Government. The meeting, which was sponsored by UNICEF, led to the necessity of mutual cooperation for the examination process throughout Syria. As a result, an agreement was reached to hold regular meetings and joint discussions between the technical teams from both sides to develop a comprehensive vision that would provide comfort for our students by overcoming the obstacles they face, including extending the registration period, determining registration centers, and allowing students to take their exams in the areas where they reside.

Based on the above, we hope that our dear students in the Autonomous Administration's regions (Tabqa, Raqqa, Euphrates, Deir ez-Zor, Jazera) prepare well for the upcoming exams. Any new updates regarding the examination process will be announced on the official website of the Education and Teaching Body of North and East Syria."
