This came in the text of a statement issued by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria regarding the murder of the child Ahmed Mamo in the Janders district of occupied Afrin at the hands of a settler, the statement reads:

For years, Turkish mercenaries, with Turkey's clear support, have been carrying out all violations in full view of all human rights and humanitarian institutions in Afrin and the occupied areas. These violations are increasing day after day as a result of the complete chaos that has occurred and continues to occur and by the demographic change and the change in the identity of these areas making way for them to be safe environment for extremists and their families.

What happened about the killing of the minor child, “Ahmed Mamo,” in Afrin by people from other regions who were resettled in Afrin is one of the dangerous results of the policy of Turkey and its mercenaries in our occupied areas, where several brothers were previously killed on the eve of Nowroz night last year, not to mention other daily violations.

While we in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria condemn these violations and abuses that are taking place, we call on all human rights and humanitarian institutions, including international ones, to perform their duty and carry out their responsibilities regarding what is happening in Afrin and the areas where Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are present. At the same time,  call for the formation of fact-finding committees that will carry out their tasks in an impartial and independent manner to document violations in these areas and bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable, with  their Turkish supporters and officials.

Emphasizing that in light of the presence of these violations and the continued occupation and its support for mercenaries, no stability can be achieved, especially since we are living today in the Syrian crisis in its thirteenth year, amid the absence of opportunities for solution and consensus as a result of the presence of the occupation, as well as the overlap of regional and international interests and agendas, stressing that we are keen to provide everything possible to achieve and ensure stability, calling on all Syrian national forces to be open to Autonomous-administration because of its pioneering role in developing a sustainable democratic solution in Syria based on unity and national consensus.”
