AA issues urgent appeal to stop attacks on hospital in Sheikh Maqsoud

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued an urgent appeal regarding the continued shelling of Khalid Fajr Hospital in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo by mercenaries of the Syrian Transitional Government.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Autonomous Administration said, "Based on the threat of genocide and massacres, we, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, issue an urgent appeal to local and international public opinion, international powers, humanitarian and human rights organizations and institutions, regarding the direct and systematic targeting of Khalid Fajr Hospital in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo since the first day of the attacks."

The statement emphasized that the ongoing shelling of the hospital constitutes a war crime and a clear violation of international law. It added, "This also threatens the lives of patients, the wounded, and medical staff, and raises serious concerns about the potential for humanitarian catastrophes due to the disruption of medical services."

The statement also stressed that continued bombing would exacerbate the humanitarian and health catastrophe, deprive civilians of their right to medical treatment, increase the number of victims, and spread fear and panic among the population.

In closing, the Autonomous Administration called on the international powers, the United Nations, and humanitarian and human rights organizations to intervene immediately to stop the bombing, ensure the full protection of the hospital and medical facilities, and guarantee the unimpeded operation of medical personnel.
