QAMISHLO

The convoy departed at dawn today as part of the January 29 agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Interim Government, which stipulates facilitating the return of displaced people to their homes.

The convoy, consisting of 1,700 displaced families who had been residing in Qamishlo, Girkê Legê, and Derik, departed from Martyr Youssef Kelo Roundabout in Qamishlo and headed toward Afrin. It is expected to reach its destination later today.

This convoy marks the eighth return movement from the Jazira and Kobani regions, following seven previous convoys organized during March, April, and May, through which thousands of displaced residents returned to Afrin and its surrounding districts.
