At least eight people have been killed across Syria over the past 24 hours amid the ongoing security chaos and instability in areas under Damascus' control.
According to documentation from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a young woman was shot dead near her home in the Karm al-Loz neighborhood of Homs city, targeted by unknown gunmen. Another man was killed after being shot by unknown gunmen in the Ain al-Khadra neighborhood of Talkalakh city in the western Homs countryside.
In Daraa, a young man was killed after being shot by unknown gunmen in the village of Sheikh Saad in the city's western countryside.
The body of a young man was found in Al-Waer Hospital in Homs, shot dead after being kidnapped by unknown gunmen. The body of another young man was found on the outskirts of Abu Hardoub village in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. The perpetrators, reasons, and motives for the crime remain unknown.
In a related development, residents found the body of an unidentified child dumped in a garbage dump in the Bab Sharqi neighborhood of the Idashriya area of Damascus.
As a result of the explosion of UXOs, one person was killed by shrapnel from a metal object at a scrap metal collection center near the city of Maarat Misrin, north of Idlib. Another was killed by shrapnel from a landmine explosion in the Mahkan desert, east of Deir ez-Zor.
