23 members of pro-Iranian groups were killed by air strikes that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights suggested were Israeli in eastern Syria.

The Observatory reported that the dead were 5 fighters of Syrian nationality, in addition to 4 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, 6 Iraqis, and 8 Iranians, noting that “9 air strikes were carried out by aircraft likely to be Israeli,” at dawn on Saturday near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The raids also resulted in the injury of approximately 20 personnel.

According to the Observatory, the strikes targeted sites and headquarters of groups loyal to Tehran in the city of Albukamal. It also targeted a load of weapons coming from Iraq and an ammunition depot.

On Saturday afternoon, the Observatory reported that an Israeli bombardment with six missiles targeted "warehouses and headquarters of pro-Iranian groups in the Aleppo airport area, killing at least 4 fighters and wounding four others."

The Observatory added that a missile fell in the area of Aleppo International Airport without causing damage to the airport.

An agency affiliated with the Damascus government quoted a military source yesterday, saying, “At approximately 17:20, the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeting a number of points south of the city of Aleppo,” indicating material damage.
