Special sources informed ANHA agency that preparations are in place for a new prisoner exchange between the SDF and the Syrian Interim Government early next week.

According to the sources, this is the fourth phase of the exchange and is expected to include 200 people.

This measure comes within the framework of implementing the January 29th Agreement between the SDF and the Syrian Interim Government, which stipulates the exchange of prisoners between the two parties in successive stages.

The first phase of the exchange took place on March 10th, 2026, and involved the release of 100 people held by the Syrian Interim Government in exchange for 100 people held by the SDF. This was one of the first steps of implementing the agreement, and those released arrived in the city of Hasaka.

The second phase, implemented on March 19th, 2026, witnessed the release of 300 individuals held by the Interim Government in exchange for 300 individuals held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as part of the ongoing implementation of the agreement.

In the third phase, which took place on April 11th, 2026, an additional 400 individuals held by the Interim Government were released in exchange for 91 individuals held by the SDF, completing the agreed-upon exchange phases.
