So far, 3 stations and 105 water wells have been out of service. As a result of the Turkish bombing in the Qamishlo area alone, the number of those affected reached more than 450 thousand people.

The Energy Office in Jazera Canton in North and East Syria confirmed through a statement: “We inform you, with regret, that the electricity generation facility in Al-Swaydiya was targeted by warplanes of the Turkish occupation forces and with 9 strikes on each of the gas turbines belonging to the General Electricity Corporation, as well as the gas turbines belonging to Rimelan Oil Company, in addition to all power transformers and power conversion yards, the percentage of destruction in this Syrian national facility, the only one in the geography of NE Syria, reached 100% and it was completely out of service.”

The Turkish bombing, which targeted the power plant, led to a water outage in dozens of cities and villages in the Qamishlo, which includes (the city of Derik, Kocharat, and the districts of Girkê Lege, Çil Agha, Tal Koçer, Tirbespiyê, Tel Hamis, the city of Qamishlo, and the district of Amuda).

3 water stations in Qamishlo went out of service: (Al-Hilaliya, Al-Awijah, and Jaqjaq) stations. the stations were supplying 9,000 homes with water. In the city of Derik, 12 wells were out of service, supplying 3,500 homes with water.

In the district of Girkê Lege, 9 wells were out of service (in the town of Kishka), in the district of Çil Agha, 36 wells were out of service, and in the district of Tirbespiyê, 14 wells were out of service, which supplied 1,900 homes with water. In Tel Hamis, 10 wells were out of service, and in Amuda district, 24 wells were out of service.

According to preliminary information, the 3 stations in Qamishlo and the 105 wells in the rest of the regions were supplying more than 450,000 people with water.

Since January 13, the Turkish occupation state has been bombing, via warplanes and drones, vital and service facilities and industrial and civil facilities, including the only power plant in the entire NE Syria.
