45 killed in Syria during 1st week of September

In different areas under the control of the Syrian Transitional Government and Turkish-occupied regions, incidents of violence and various crimes increased during the first week of September, with dozens of civilians killed in targeted executions and war-related incidents.

During this period, 45 people were killed, including 4 women and 5 children, either in retaliatory attacks, due to war remnants, or following torture in the prisons of the Syrian Transitional Government. The incidents were reported in the cities of Damascus, Daraa, Homs, Tartous, Raqqa, Aleppo, Hama, Sweida, and Deir ez-Zor.

The death toll from the recent security escalation in Sweida, which began in mid-July due to clashes, field executions, and Israeli shelling, has risen to 2,026. The breakdown of incidents is as follows:

September 1:

A young man from Sweida was killed by direct gunfire near Saida Bridge in eastern Daraa countryside.

A young man was shot dead in Al-Faraya neighborhood in Hama by unidentified masked men.

A resident of Al-Mazra’a village was killed on the Homs-Tartous highway.

A 25-year-old man was found hanged inside his home in Souq Al-Niswaan, Damascus countryside.

Three people, including a child, were killed by stray bullets during high school exam celebrations in Damascus and Daraa.

Three people, including a child, were found dead in Karm Al-Zaytoun, Homs, and Al-Zaka village, Hama countryside.

A young man was killed in Al-Naziha village, southern Aleppo countryside, during a family dispute.

September 2:

A resident was killed by a landmine explosion in Ghanem Al-Ali village, eastern Raqqa countryside.

A resident of Nahta, Daraa countryside, was killed in a weapons mishap.

Engineer Ali Mohsen Ibrahim from Boulus village was found dead on the road between Aqrab and Hama near the Iskandar Feed Factory.

Dr. Basel Zino was shot dead in front of his clinic in Al-Jamiliya, Aleppo.

Three citizens were killed after being tortured by the Turkish gendarmerie while attempting to cross into Turkey in occupied Serê Kaniyê.

September 3:

A girl was killed during a tribal conflict in Al-Tayana, eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.

A resident was killed by direct gunfire in Al-Hamidiya Mosque neighborhood, Hama.

A young man was shot dead in Qadi Askar neighborhood, Aleppo.

A young man from Sweida died under torture in the prisons of the Syrian Transitional Government.

September 4:

“Abu Farouq Al-Uyghuri” from the Turkistan Islamic Party and “Abu Salama,” a leader of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, were killed in an airstrike on the road to Aleppo International Airport.

A young man was killed in Sheikh Ali village, Al-Atarib, western Aleppo, in a targeted attack.

Three people were shot dead in Al-Shabab Housing area, Hama.

Mohassen Al-Sawaf was stabbed to death in Al-Baramkeh, Damascus.

A man was found shot dead multiple times in the southern Idlib countryside.

A young man was killed by shrapnel from a landmine in Madaya, Damascus countryside.

A man in his twenties was killed in Zama village, Jableh countryside.

September 5:

A 15-year-old boy was found dead on the banks of the Euphrates near Baqras village, eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.

A young man was killed by direct gunfire on the road to Ma’rdaftin village, western Hama countryside.

A man was killed during a fight in Al-Suweiqa neighborhood, Damascus.

September 6:

A man was killed by an explosion caused by war remnants near the mechanical bakery in Inkhil, northern Daraa countryside.

A woman and her three children were killed by her husband in Btiya village, western Idlib countryside.

A resident was killed by masked men in a civilian car in Housh Arab, western Damascus countryside, while his mother was injured.

September 7:

Unknown gunmen kidnapped a man from the “Aloush” family in Al-Manakh neighborhood, Hama.

September 8:

A 48-year-old man was shot dead by unknown gunmen from his home window in Qaniyat Al-Asi village, northern Homs countryside.

A member of the Engineering Regiment of the Syrian Transitional Government was killed while clearing mines in Deir ez-Zor.
