2,541 Syrian figures submit requests to meet Leader Ocalan

Farzenda Mundher, an administrator at the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, announced that the results of the campaign launched on August 20, along with the names of the figures expressing their desire to meet Leader Abdullah Ocalan, were delivered on Monday, September 22, to a number of international bodies through official letters. These included: the United Nations Secretary-General, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the Presidency of the European Council, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey.

The Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the Syrian Lawyers Initiative for the Defense of Leader Abdullah Ocalan launched a wide campaign under the slogan “I Want to Visit Ocalan,” covering various regions of NE Syria, in addition to several other Syrian cities.

The campaign received significant engagement from different segments of society, including human rights activists, academics, politicians, intellectuals, tribal leaders, religious figures, doctors, and engineers, as well as representatives of Syria’s diverse ethnic and religious communities, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Yazidis, Turkmens, Circassians, and members of various Islamic sects.

On September 21, the two initiatives announced the campaign results, noting that 2,541 Syrian figures had joined it, expressing a collective desire to meet the leader and supporting his human and political rights.
