2,096 from Lebanon arrive in Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh neighborhoods

The number of returnees from Lebanon to Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods has reached 2096 people, amid the continued flow of returnees, due to the military escalation in Lebanon.

On October 1, the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods announced the formation of a crisis cell, including all concerned sectors and institutions to facilitate the arrival of returnees from Lebanon to the two neighborhoods.

The formed crisis cell informed ANHA agency's correspondent that the number of returnees to date has reached 2,096 people, with continued arrivals to the two neighborhoods, all of whom are Syrian returnees.

While the cell is working to secure free housing for some of the returnees, who are residents of the two neighborhoods, and sending others to the camps in the Afrin and Shahba cantons.

It is noteworthy that the number of arrivals from Lebanon to the region of North and East Syria reached 18,875 people, including 58 Lebanese, amid the continued flow of returnees to NE Syria.
