2 young men killed, another injured across Homs

On Sunday evening, Homs witnessed a series of separate crimes that left two young men dead and a third seriously injured, amid growing signs of lawlessness that have recently gripped the city.

According to ANHA correspondent in the area, Ali Bassam Ziyoud was killed around 10 p.m. after two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire directly at him while he was inside his shop in the Old Aekrima neighborhood near al-Maljaa.

In a similar incident that occurred at nearly the same time, Marwan Hadid was shot dead by unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle in the Wadi al-Dahab neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Munir Abbas was seriously injured in the shoulder after being shot inside a restaurant in the city of Tal Kalakh, in western Homs countryside.

The incidents come amid a surge of violence and growing insecurity in Homs and other areas under the control of the transitional government in Syria, in the absence of accountability and as sectarian tensions and divisions continue to deepen without any lasting solutions in sight.
