182 families displaced from villages in Amediya district, S. Kurdistan

A human rights organization revealed that the Turkish occupation army displaced 182 families from 8 villages in the Amediya district of Dohuk, during its recent continuous attacks on various areas in S. Kurdistan, and fears of the residents displacement of 602 other villages in light of the ongoing attack.

The American organization Community Peace Makers Teams (CPT) reported that the Turkish occupation army launched 285 attacks against various areas in S. Kurdistan in less than a month, in a statistic it monitored between the 15th of June to the 11th of this July, most of which are within the borders of Dohuk.

The report indicates that the Turkish occupation army displaced 182 families from 8 villages from Amediya district in Dohuk, amid fears of the displacement of the people of 602 other villages as a result of the continuous attacks.

The report indicated that the continuous attacks led to the burning of 65,000 dunums of agricultural land in Dohuk.

The Turkish occupation army, with the participation of the KDP forces, escalated its attacks on the Medya defense areas and other areas in S. Kurdistan, and its occupation of its villages in the Amediya district, while mobilizing more forces and military equipment.

The recent Turkish air and ground attacks have focused on areas administratively under Dohuk in S. Kurdistan.
