170 fires, 12 traffic accidents leave 13 injured in Syria

Thirteen people were injured in traffic accidents and fires that occurred in various parts of Syria over the past 24 hours, while Civil Defense teams responded to 182 incidents, including fires and road accidents, across the country.

The Civil Defense teams at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced on Wednesday that 13 people were injured as a result of traffic accidents and fires they responded to during the past 24 hours in different Syrian provinces.

The Civil Defense said its teams handled 12 traffic accidents that left 10 civilians injured, in addition to 170 fires that broke out in fields, agricultural crops, homes, commercial shops and other locations, causing injuries to three people, including a firefighter.

The Civil Defense renewed its call for citizens to follow safety measures, avoid starting fires in forested areas and agricultural fields, and refrain from throwing cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, especially near crops and forests. It also urged people to avoid burning dry grass and to remove it using safe methods.

The Civil Defense teams had recorded, two days earlier, the death of one person and injuries to 27 others due to fires and traffic accidents that occurred in different parts of Syria.
