Political Parties: freedom of leader Ocalan is  top priority

The Turkish authorities impose strict isolation on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been detained in Imrali prison since 1999, by preventing his lawyer and his family from meeting with him, and depriving him of communication with the outside world, as his last contact with the outside world was since March 2021.

The head of the Democratic Peace Party, Talal Muhammad, believes that the fear of forces with regional interests about the project of democratic change in the Middle East is the main reason for the continued strict isolation of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and explained: “ Mr. Abdullah Ocalan has an effective role in the political and social field in Kurdistan, and this is the cause of the isolation.”

Muhammad stressed that the plans hatched by the occupying regimes of Kurdistan, especially the Justice and Development Party government, seek to undermine the free thought and philosophy of the peoples of Mesopotamia by kidnapping the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and added: “One word from Mr. Ocalan is enough to solve many crises and issues.”

Ocalan's case is a priority for diplomatic actions

Talal Muhammad stressed the need for the Kurdish political parties to work on ending the strict isolation, and making Ocalan’s case a priority for projects and activities.

As for the co-chair of the Green Democratic Party, Luqman Ahmi, he noted that the strict isolation does not target the person of leader Abdullah Ocalan only, but also targets all Kurds. He said: “There are millions of Kurds in the Middle East who are deprived of their rights and freedom.

Ahmi confirmed that one of the main reasons for the continued strict isolation of leader Abdullah Ocalan is that he represents all Kurdish people, asTurkey does not want his proposals and ideas to reach the peoples of the Middle East.

Ahmi noted that all international organizations and institutions remain silent about the isolation, and added: “When the issue relates to Kurdish rights and Kurdish militant figures, these institutions remain silent, so the United Nations and international institutions must break their silence."

Ahmi explained that an organized popular struggle can make Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s voice more accessible to the world.

Ahmi stressed the need for the people to self-organize because rallying around leader Abdullah Ocalan and realizing his ideas passes through this.
