Protests continue to demand the "toppling of the regime" in As-Suwayda for the eighth day in a row.

In this context, the people of Majadel, Shahba, Mardak, Hawiya and Arman staged a protest, amid the road closures before heading to participate in the central demonstration in the city, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Simultaneously, dozens of young men closed the headquarters of the "Baath Party" and government departments in the city of As-Suwayda, amid chanting slogans calling for freedom.

These protests have a different character from the rest of the protests that were taking place in As-Suwayda in the past, as they quickly supported by several Syrian regions under the control of the Damascus government, and the Bedouin of the south.

Out of the clear solidarity between the components of the Syrian people and the high participation of women, the slogan "Berxwedan Jiyan e" or in English "Resistance is life" had a share in these protests.

Yesterday, the protesters raised a banner for this slogan written in both Arabic and Kurdish, along with phrases rejecting the Turkish occupation of Afrin.

The slogan of resistance emerged in the early eighties of the last century when it was raised by the pioneers of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in Turkish prisons against oppression and torture, and the Kurdish people are still repeating this slogan during their struggle for freedom.
