​​​​​​​Intensive Russian raids on Syrian desert

Today, the Russian warplanes carried out a series of intensive air raids, targeting sites of ISIS mercenaries in several areas in the Raqqa desert and the western and southern countryside of Deir al-Zor, after days of a major escalation in ISIS attacks, the most violent of which was in the Mayaden desert, east of Deir al-Zor, according to what was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Yesterday, the Russian warships stationed on the Syrian coast fired several high-explosive missiles, as they crossed the Drakesh and Safita areas in the Tartous countryside towards the Syrian desert, targeting sites and caves where ISIS mercenaries hide in the desert.

Yesterday, ISIS mercenaries launched a surprise attack with light and medium machine guns, targeting military points belonging to the "National Defense", near the salt mine in the desert of the town of Al-Tebni, west of Deir al-Zor, killing 5 of the "National Defense".

These raids come after the bloody attack by ISIS on a military bus in Al-Mayaden desert on the Deir al-Zor - Homs road, and 33 deaths among the ranks of the Damascus government forces, in the most violent attack against them since the beginning of this year.
