​​​​​​​Kongra Star congratulates 39th anniversary of August 15 leap

Today, the Kongra Star Council issued a statement to the public opinion, on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the August leap>

The statement reads: "We congratulate our people on the thirty-ninth anniversary of the glorious leap of August 15, the leap that brought the Kurdish people out of darkness into light, from slavery to resistance and the spirit of struggle, and proved to the whole world that this people exists and remains on its historical land".

And recalled, "On this great occasion, the martyr Agid (Masoum Korkmaz), who lit the first spark in Aruh-Shamzinan, and proved to the Turkish enemy the heroism of the Kurdish people, and said the time has come to liberate Kurdistan from the oppression and persecution of Turkish fascism".

The statement referred to the struggle of the Kurdish people, saying: "We all know that the history of Kurdistan witnessed many uprisings in order to preserve the existence of the Kurdish people, and thus our people paid a heavy price as a result of the traditional methods of the Kurdish uprisings, and great sacrifices were made, but the Kurdish people suffered from injustice and persecution for the failure of those uprisings.

And added, "But the situation was different with the emergence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, where the Kurds entered for the first time the stage of self-creation and organization and bypassed traditional methods, and turned into a force for peoples suffering from oppression, as it has always developed its methods and tactics with the thought and philosophy of the great leader Abdullah Ocalan".

It emphasized the continuation of this struggle led by leader Abdullah Ocalan for more than 45 years, despite all kinds of attacks he was subjected to by all the dominant powers and capitalist modernity, and said: "However, it managed to highlight the Kurdish issue to public opinion, and it became a turning point in the world and the Middle East, and it achieved a revolution of revival based on this reality that was revealed by the leap of August 15".

The statement indicated that attempts to embody the leadership model and shed light on many "areas of our struggle, especially in Rojava and NE Syria, and the active participation of women in all areas of life at the level of the women's revolution is important".

And added, "Today we are living in a historic phase, which determines the fate of democracy and revolutionary forces, the fate of women and youth, and all anti-fascist forces, and for this we call on all forces to escalate the struggle, as it is time to raise the spirit of struggle through the unity of the Kurdish people; we call on women, youth, and all peoples, as we are at a stage in which we face a historical responsibility more than ever before, just as we created ourselves in the leap of August 15. It is time to create freedom, achieve victory, and build a moral, political, and democratic society".

And the statement considered that "the spirit of victory that emanated with the leap of August 15, is like a birth to us, and we are completely confident and certain that victory will be our ally, and defeat, destruction and annihilation will be the fate of Turkish fascism, and all the racist forces represented by the Turkish occupation state; and with the spirit of August 15 resistance, the Kurdish people will build with all the peoples of the Middle East under the leadership of women (Jin, Jiyan, Azadî), a life dominated by justice, equality, freedom, and continuous struggle to obtain the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and to liberate all occupied lands".
