KCK: PDK uses Turkish methods of torture against Kurdish detainees

After the assassination of Osman Kusa, the head of the Turkish consulate in Hewler , on July 17, 2019, the two Kurdish youths, Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman, were convicted of premeditated murder, and the court issued a death sentence against them.

Since the day they put Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar in Hewler prison, a series of violations against them began. Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar started a hunger strike on May 18; In response to the pressure exerted on them to wear the uniform and the bad practices against them, today, the strike of Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar in Hewler prison, which is controlled by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, has entered its 44th day, and their situation is getting more and more dangerous.

The bloodshed of the Kurds by the Turkish intelligence services is considered permissible by the Kurdistan Democratic Party

In this regard, the KCK Foreign Relations Committee issued a statement to the public, and the statement stated that “two Kurdish youths from Northern Kurdistan, Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar, have been in prison for 5 years on suspicion of killing a spy of the intelligence service in Hewler,” and added: “ Turkish intelligence spies who have a hand in the martyrdom of dozens of Kurdish revolutionaries roam freely in the cities and villages of the Kurdistan region, and it is clear from this that the Kurdistan Democratic Party sees the shedding of the blood of the Kurds by the Turkish intelligence services as permissible, but it does not accept the punishment of a spy by some young people patriots who have a patriotic stance and principle and can issue a death sentence on them within a few weeks.”

  “As if the death sentence was not enough against the two young men, the PDK prison administration subjected them to severe torture and strict physical and psychological isolation. This torture and isolation is the same method used by the occupying Turkish state against Kurdish detainees.”

At the request of the Turkish state

At the request of the Turkish state, the same policy of isolation and torture was followed against Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar. On orders from Turkey, the Kurdistan Democratic Party sentenced them to death. That is why Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar began a hunger strike in protest against these pressures, and this is what endangered their lives. The two young men are in danger, and despite all the appeals, especially the appeal of the two young men's family, the Kurdistan Democratic Party adheres to the policy of isolation, and therefore there is a serious threat to the lives of the two young men.

The KCK Foreign Relations Committee concluded its statement: “We say here that the KDP is responsible for the lives of Mazloum Dag and Abdul Rahman Ar, and it must stop this policy of isolation and follow Turkey's demands before the situation worsens. In addition, we call on all human rights institutions at the international level, Iraq and Kurdistan, intellectuals, political figures, forces and political parties in Kurdistan to join efforts and take a stand against the policy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
