After liberating the regions of North and East Syria from ISIS mercenaries, the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested thousands of ISIS mercenaries, and the repeated Turkish occupation attacks on the region increase the risk of ISIS returning to the region.

On the 10th of April, the Autonomous Administration issued a statement announcing the start of bringing the foreign ISIS mercenaries held by it to open, fair and transparent trials.

In this regard, Ali Al-Ahmad, a resident of the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, said: "ISIS previously committed crimes against the people of the region in general, and it is still carrying out other crimes through its cells, and we still need to make more efforts to eliminate the threat of ISIS once and for all."

And Al-Ahmad stated: "The Turkish occupation state is still continuing its support for ISIS mercenaries, and in its latest attack on Ghweran prison, it was its biggest supporter."

Al-Ahmad pointed out that any attack by ISIS mercenaries on the region coincides with the attacks of the Turkish occupation state, with the aim of destabilizing the security and stability of the region and reviving ISIS again.

Al-Ahmad stressed, "We fear that ISIS will return again, and for this we demand that ISIS detainees be held accountable and tried as soon as possible, and that all those who support them be held accountable."

In his turn, the citizen, Yahya al-Ali, from the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, said: "The United Nations and other capable and influential countries in the Syrian issue must prosecute these terrorists and expel them from our lands, and they must fulfill their duty and responsibilities towards the people of the region, who sacrificed their children to eliminate ISIS."

Al-Ali stressed, "ISIS mercenaries still pose a threat to the region, and we have recently noticed the detainees' attempts to escape from prisons, and this matter poses a danger to the peoples of the region and to neighboring countries."

Al-Ali stressed the necessity of trying: "ISIS detainees as soon as possible, so that they do not resume their activities again and carry out terrorist operations against the people of the region."

In his turn, the co-chair of the Western Region Council, Mohammad al-Hilal, explained: "The file of ISIS mercenary detainees in North and Eastern Syria is still one of the most complex files faced by the Autonomous Administration."

Mohammad al-Hilal emphasized: "ISIS detainees must be held accountable within an international court in the region with the participation of the International Coalition, because the presence of ISIS detainees in the region poses a threat to the people of the region, and in the event of any breach of prisons, the International Coalition will bear responsibility."

Al-Hilal stressed the need to deal seriously with the file of ISIS detainees and their trial, and added: "The presence of ISIS detainees in the region constitutes an economic and security burden on the region."
