Kobani people celebrate Kurdish Language Day

The people of Kobani Canton celebrated the Kurdish Language Day and emphasized that the resistance was sufficient for the Kurds to preserve their existence by sticking to their mother tongue.

The celebration, which was organized in Martyr Agid Square in the city of Kobani, was attended by the people of Kobani Canton, personalities from the parties and administrators in the AANES institutions in the Euphrates region.

The celebration began with standing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the Deput of the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Euphrates region, Mizgin Khalil, delivered a speech in which she said: "In the spirit of resistance of peoples who yearn for freedom and seek to restore their identity, we dedicate this day to leader Abdullah Ocalan".

And she continued, "Throughout history, the Kurds and the Kurdish culture were subjected to genocide, but today the situation is different because the leader Abdullah Ocalan brought them back to life with his intellectual revolution that woke them up from their slumber".

The celebration ended with musical performances by the Vajin Band and the Kobani University Students' Band.
