Christians celebrate Easter

This morning, the Christian citizens in Qamishlo Canton went to churches; To participate in the Resurrection Mass for the Western Churches.

The celebration began with the performance of hymns, prayers and supplications for this occasion, and the bells of the eastern churches rang on the occasion of Easter.

In the city of Derik, the celebration began in the churches of Mar Dodo and Mar Shamoni in Derik, with the sound of church bells and the performance of prayers, hymns and rituals for Easter.

As part of the Easter ceremonies, eggs are colored and distributed to children, in reference to the birth of a new life for the Syriac, Assyrian, and Chaldean people, in addition to decorating churches and homes.

Eastern Easter, the Feast of Resurrection, is known as the greatest and largest Christian holiday, in which Christians remember the resurrection of Christ, after 3 days of his crucifixion, and in it ends the great fast, which usually lasts fifty days.
