NPG: AKP seeks to launch attacks before elections

The Leadership of the People's Defense Center (NPG) published a message to the leaders and fighters of the People’s Defense Forces, which read:

"Newroz 2023 has a special place for us. Fifty years ago from now, Leader “APO” began his historical journey on the day of Newroz by holding the first meeting. That is, the meeting that Leader APO held in Ankara in 1973 with six people beside the Gobuk Dam became the beginning of a new era in the history of Kurdistan. The ongoing struggle has also become a new birth for our people. From then until today, the flame of Newroz burns and the resistance and struggle are strengthened more and more. On this basis, and on behalf of all the guerrilla of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, we congratulate Leader “APO” on the 50th anniversary of the rebirth and the anniversary of this historical march, and we salute him and express our loyalty is to him. We also congratulate all the comrades, the toilers, the mothers of the martyrs, our people and all peoples who believe in Newroz on this holiday. Newroz has reached its meaning during the past 50 years with the resistance of the heroic martyrs.

Leader APO started his historical career in Newroz on purpose

Newroz has an important place in the history of our people and the history of the peoples of the region. Newroz expresses victory over the oppressive regime of Dahhak. It represents the day of victory for unity and resistance under the leadership of Mediay, meaning that it is the day of unity, the day of resistance, the day of victory. That is why our people always ignite the Newroz flame in Kurdistan as a flame of glad tidings, a flame of resistance, and always celebrate it as a day of victory. Newroz achieved an important role during its march. However, the meaning of Newroz was derailed in the context of the occupation policy pursued against Kurdistan, as the enemies sought to make the people consider it an ordinary day. But Leader APO intentionally began his historical journey on Newroz Day and has always received Newroz Day since then, as a day of resistance, a day for strengthening the struggle for freedom, a day for strengthening unity, a day for strengthening national spirit, and a day for victory.

Our most important activities were carried out on Newroz Day. Comrade Mazloum Dogan, in the bad conditions of Amed Prison, carried out his historic action on Newroz Day. Since then, Newroz has turned into a feast for new steps, and a feast for reinforcing the spirit of resistance and victory. Today, our people go out to the squares, receive Newroz on this basis, and celebrate with a patriotic spirit. Thus, through 50 years of work, Newroz reached its true meaning. Today's Leader's March Newroz is in his 50th year, and we are about to enter the 51st year of Leader's Newroz. We seek to make the 51st year of the Leader's advent a new and great year.

The Kurdish people have always resisted the attacks of denial and genocide

Newroz 2023 holds important importance for us for many reasons. The first, as we mentioned, is the 50th Newroz of the advent of Leader APO. The second, it is Newroz, the centenary of the Treaty of Lausanne. As we know, the Treaty of Lausanne is the treaty of denial and annihilation of Kurdistan. The past century represents a great tragedy for our people, as it witnessed many massacres. However, our people never accepted the Treaty of Lausanne, did not acquiesce in it, and resisted the policy of denial and extermination at all times. Today, the struggle to overthrow the Treaty of Lausanne, in its centenary, has reached very important levels.

The attacks of the Turkish occupation state continue despite our decision to stop military operations

"Newroz 2023 will mark the beginning of a new era and become the year of defeating the regime of oppression and genocide. It will become a year of victory for the struggle for freedom and democracy. It will be a year of popular victory over fascism and genocide."

As we know, this devastating earthquake that struck Kurdistan, Turkey and Syria turned into a massacre and a massive disaster because the necessary measures were not taken. As a result of this critical situation, our movement, out of humanitarian, moral and social duty, declared a cease-fire operation, and our leadership responded to this declaration and the cease-fire process is now in effect by us. However, the regime of the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement did not take this emergency into account and continues to launch its attacks on our forces. There is no human feelings or sympathy in the structure of this fascist state, it seeks to build its power and maintain its existence on the bodies of our children. That is why it is true that we declared a cease-fire, but the enemy is breaching it. Basically, our people and public opinion follow this situation, and it became clear how our position is a human, popular and social position, and on the other hand, how the position of the occupation is bloody and far from humanity.

AKP and the nationalist movement could escalate their attacks in the next two months

For these reasons, the state of the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement could escalate its attacks until the next elections. There is no doubt that these elections, which are scheduled to be held on the 14th of next May, are of great importance to the future of Turkey and all the peoples who live in it. Because the people in Turkey not only seek to elect a person or a number of people, but also seek to make a decision to change the regime as well. That is why it is very important. However, we know that the authority of the Justice and Development Party and the National Movement does not want to give up power and wants to preserve it and the system. That is why it is not excluded that this fascism will carry a malicious acts and weave games and schemes. This regime seeks to fuel crises, create strife, and achieve the desired result in this way. It has already made some preparations for this trick.

We have to receive Newroz 2023 with the spirit of Zap's resistance and the guerrilla spirit of Sarah and Roken and the women who follow in their footsteps, to avenge all the massacres and all the martyrs, and crown their cause with victory. We have to receive it with the guerrilla spirit, the spirit of revenge, and the spirit of the victory campaign. We have to turn Newroz 2023 into a year of great resistance, a great march, and a year of victory.
