​​​​​​​SDF reveals outcome of sixth day of operation al-Jazeera Thunderbolt

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement on the sixth day of the "Thunderbolt Al-Jazeera" operation, which targets ISIS cells in Al-Hol area in Al-Hasakah canton and Tal Hamis district in Qamishlo canton.

The text of the statement read:

The joint forces in Operation Al-Jazeera Thunderbolt continue their security operations against cells and dens of the terrorist organization ISIS and those involved in criminal cases in the areas of Al-Hol, Tell Brak and Tell Hamis, for the sixth day in a row, as the operation included this morning the villages of Al-Sawy, Al-Janabeh and Al-Khan and their farms southeast of Al-Hol.

The scope of the operation expanded to include the Syrian-Iraqi border area, where a distance of more than 63 km was combed along the desert area, from which the cells of the terrorist organization in the eastern countryside of the town of Al-Hawl could benefit.

The joint forces raided possible hideouts and arrested 3 persons suspected of being linked to terrorist cells based on preliminary information, as they were transferred to investigation to verify their true identities.

The forces also arrested four people who were involved in various criminal acts, including acts of kidnapping, looting, and blackmailing of the people in the southern and eastern regions of the city of Hasakah, where they took the Al-Hol area as their hideout.

In the town of Markada, south of Hasaka, the special units of our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, with ground and air support from the international coalition forces, carried out a security operation targeting a cell of the terrorist organization “ISIS”, after they were able to collect accurate information about the activity of the terrorist cell.

at the beginning of the operation; Our forces raided the whereabouts of two members of the terrorist cell, in the town of “Markada” in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, and then their homes were cordoned off and searched thoroughly, as a quantity of weapons and technical equipment they were in possession were confiscated, and the two members of the cell were arrested.

The two arrested members were active in making explosives and booby-trapping vehicles, in addition to carrying out attacks against military points and security patrols in the countryside of Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor.
