​​​​​​​Iraqi refugees and Syrians in Roj Camp demand to impose no- fly zone on NE, Syria

Iraqi refugees and displaced Syrians in Roj Camp in Deirk countryside made a statement, calling on the United Nations and international organizations to stand up to the Turkish occupation attacks and impose an air embargo on NE, Syria, and that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees work to protect the camps.

The statement of the camp’s residents came after Turkish warplanes bombed an area near Roj Camp, in the countryside of Derik district in Qamishlo canton, resulted in the martyrdom 11 citizens, including ANHA agency’s correspondent Issam Abdullah, and wounding others.

The statement, which was read by the Iraqi refugee Amir Radwan, said: "We, the residents of Rojava camps in general and Roj Camp in particular, condemn and denounce the indiscriminate attacks by the Turkish state on civilians, including women and children, without exception, with its heinous acts. We also strongly condemn the international silence on these attacks, especially on NE, Syria.

The statement referred to the bombing of the Turkish occupation yesterday by warplanes and said that it caused a state of panic among the camp residents who were displaced from their areas due to the wars and bombing. Which made their areas unsafe, they were forced to flee towards the safe areas of NE,Syria to find in front of them another aggression by the Turkish state

The refugees and displaced people called on the United Nations to stand up to the attacks on NE, Syria and to impose an air embargo. “Based on this situation, on behalf of the people of Roj Camp, we demand the United Nations and international human rights organizations to stand up to these attacks on NE, Syria and impose an air embargo. We also demand from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Refugees should work to protect refugees and displaced people in camps by all available means and raise the UNHCR flag in order to know the camps so that the whole world knows that these camps are under the auspices of the High Commissioner for Refugees.
