​​​​​​​Arabs, Kurds and Syriacs demonstrate against strict isolation on leader Ocalan

Thousands of components in the cities and districts of Qamishlo Canton went out today in a demonstration under the slogan "Leader Ocalan Freedom is the Freedom of the peoples."

Thousands of Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs, members of civil, political, military and human rights institutions, Kongra Star, Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) and the families of the martyrs participated in the demonstration, which started from Soni roundabout in the city center.

The demonstrators carried pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and placards that read, " Freedom and justice for Leader Ocalan," in Kurdish, Arabic, Syriac and French.

During the demonstration, the participants chanted slogans saluting the resistance of the leader Ocalan, "Long live the leader Ocalan", "there is no life without the leader", in addition to the slogans condemning the international conspiracy against the leader.

When the demonstrators arrived at the Muhammad Sheikho Center for Culture and Art in Qamishlo, they held a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of freedom.

Then, the member of the Popular Initiative in North and East Syria, Houria Shamdin, delivered a speech in which she noted the daily attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the region, saying: " The Turkish occupation is targeting our people with heavy weapons and drones with the aim of emptying the region.”

Houria linked the attacks on NE Syria and the legitimate defence areas in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) to the strict isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan.

 she added: "The decisions that are applied to the leader violate all laws. For nearly 20 years, the Turkish occupation state has imposed strict isolation on the leader by preventing his lawyer and family from meeting him."

At the conclusion of her speech, Houria Shamdin denounced the position of the European Committee against Torture (CPT), about what is happening in Imrali prison.

As for the member of the Popular Initiative, Adel Malla Ibrahim, he called on all components of NE Syria to unite the ranks and to escalate the struggle at all levels to achieve the leader's physical freedom.
