The July 19th Revolution in Rojava and north-eastern Syria, known as "the Women's Revolution” has achieved a lot of achievements at all political, military, economic and social levels. Women have led the resistance based on ideology of leader Abdullah Ocalan. The revolution was a qualitative leap towards changing and democratization society, which is rejected by the capitalist forces, above all by the Turkish occupying state.

Since last July, Turkish occupation intensified its shelling on NE, Syria by using UAVs, on 22 July last, it targeted three women leaders in the Women's Protection Units, the Syrian Democratic Forces and the commander of the counter-terrorism units. (YAT) Jiyan Tolhidan, returning from the Women's Revolution Forum in Qamishlo, the latest of which was the targeting of the co-chair of the Office of Justice and Reform, Zainab Mohammed, last September 27.

In this regard, the co-chair of the Defence Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Bayan Ali, said, "The Turkish occupying state's targeting of women is nothing new, Turkey fears women success for building a democratic society."

During a meeting with ANHA’s agency, Bayan al-Ali likened the methods used by the Turkish occupying state to beat women by the methods of ISIS mercenaries. It stated: "ISIS targets women and persecutes them to undermine their will. The Turkish occupying state also targets them to undermine their will and the people’s will who liberated from ISIS clutches.

Bayan al-Ali stated that women in NE, Syria played a leading role in fighting ISIS and protecting humanity from its danger, and that the targeting of Turkish occupation of women was a reaction to the tournaments it had achieved against ISIS.

In her speech, she condemned the targeting of Turkish occupation of women, describing the occupier's mind as "fascism," adding that "the enemy wants to break the will of women and break the will of the people", and criticized the international silence over the Turkish occupying state's targeting by UAVs the areas of NE, Syria.”

Focusing on the importance of women and society as a whole following the principle of self-protection and the revolutionary people's war in order to protect the region, Ali said: "self-protection and the revolutionary people's war are important to protect the area and the gains we have achieved thanks to the blood of martyrs. The region has been in difficult and harsh circumstances since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis until it was liberated from ISIS gangs."

"On a daily basis, the Turkish occupying state escalates its attacks on our regions, and we, like the Syrian Democratic Forces, stand resolutely in the confrontation of Turkish occupation, by the strength of our forces and by supporting our people and standing with us, and self-protection is a legitimate right.

Bayan highlighted the important role played by women in all spheres of life: "Not only is the role of women in the upbringing of children, but, besides this noble role, they are able to bear arms and confront the enemy in the field battle. Women in NE, Syria have become role models for all the women of the world."

"Women should organize, train and educate themselves more, to understand the policies of the occupier, ISIS, the Ba 'ath Party and all those who target NE,Syria," the co-chair of the Defence Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria concluded.
