Thousands of Hasaka Canton residents demand the physical freedom of leader Ocalan

The demonstrators carried banners that read: "defeat all forms of treason and conspiracies, free leaderp Apo physically, Turkish fascism is a threat to global security, let's stand together against this terrorism".

After the demonstrators arrived in front of Khabur Center for Culture and art, the demonstration turned into mass gathering, which began with a minute of silence in honor of the lives of the martyrs, and then PYD member Mohammed Khalaf, gave a speech on behalf of the party, in which he denounced the international conspiracy against leader Ocalan, and said, "in the spirit of resistance of Imrali and Gurellias in the mountains of Kurdistan, in the spirit of resistance of the people of NE Syria against the attacks of Turkish occupation state, we will defeat the occupation and break the restrictions and laws imposed on our leader".

Khalaf explained that the goal of the international conspiracy is to eliminate the Kurds, break their will and erase their identity, stressing that "all the peoples of North and East Syria have chosen the option of resistance and countering the plans of Turkish occupation state until achieving the physical freedom of leader Ocalan".

He added:" all the components coexisting in North and East of Syria, which came out today in this demonstration, demand the freedom of the leader."

For her part, the co-chair of Hasaka Canton council, Samar al-Abdullah, said: "it has been 24 years since the international conspiracy was hatched against leader Abdullah Ocalan, in which regional powers and intelligence agencies participated because he demanded freedom, equality and lifting injustice and persecution from all humanity."

She pointed out that" Leader Ocalan is a political detainee, and he has rights, and the Turkish occupation state violates these rights, and that the Committee Against Torture does not fulfill its duty regarding what the leader is subjected to in Imrali prison".

At the end of her speech, Samar Al-Abdullah called on the international community and international human rights organizations to break their silence, lift the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan and achieve his physical freedom."

The demonstration ends with chanting slogans denouncing the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan and demanding his freedom.
