​​​​​​​Ahin Ali focuses at 2nd stage of “Time for Freedom" campaign on legal aspects

For 24 years, the fascist Turkish state has committed human rights violations, both psychologically and legally, against the leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali prison, who was kidnapped following an international conspiracy in 1998.

Commenting on this, member of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Ocalan, Ahin Ali, drew attention to the fact that the fascist Turkish state is violating international laws in Imrali prison, saying: "The international conspiracy against leader Ocalan is entering its 25th year, which began on October 9, 1998, and was implemented in February 15, 1999, all these years have passed since the leader was kidnapped without trial, a violation of all international norms and laws.

She added: "In the law of each country, a trial must be held for the detainee every 15 years, but 25 years have passed since the kidnapping of leader Ocalan, without the Turkish state accepting the application of any of the humanitarian laws in Imrali. Therefore, what is practiced in Imrali against the leader is nothing but attempts to slowly end his life and weaken him, and thus his surrender to its policies.”

Ahin Ali, explained that the international conspiracy against the leader Ocalan and the policies that are being pursued today, against the Kurds are an interconnected series that is not far from each other. The countries that participated in the conspiracy, and it is implemented by the authorities of the Turkish state, while these countries seek to implement their plans on the Kurds through the occupied countries of Kurdistan.”

Stressing that the will and resistance of the leader Ocalan against these policies and violations and not to surrender, angered the conspiracy countries, as the authorities of the fascist Turkish state once again imposed "disciplinary sanctions" for another 3 months on leader Ocalan and the other Imrali detainees (Omar Khairy Konar, Hamili Yildirim and Weisi Aktas) on June 23, 2022, by preventing them from meeting with their families and lawyers, according to what was reported by Mesopotamia agency.

Ahin Ali noted the statements of a member of the Executive Committee of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Duran Kalkan, about the violations practiced in Imrali, and his confirmation that Imrali is a European prison, and that joint institutions run the torture system in it, and manipulate the law, saying, “As we enter the 25th year of the international conspiracy, it is necessary to holding a new trial for the leader Ocalan on the basis of international and European laws."

And she continued, "There are many political detainees who have been detained for more than 30 years, without legal trial. Every detainee has the right to meet with his family, and a political detainee also has the right to meet with his lawyer from time to time."

Ahin indicated, "The conspiring countries kidnapped the leader Ocalan for fear of building Kurdistan at the time, but now they are afraid of solving all Middle East issues through the leader's democratic nation's thought, which is a guarantee for the whole world, not just Kurdistan."

Ahin highlighted the impact of Imrali prison conditions on the health of Leader Ocalan, especially at the age of 73, stressing: "Our demands are to meet with Leader Ocalan and hold a legal trial for him. By what right do these policies pursue the leader and impose severe isolation on him within unhealthy conditions in Imrali?"

Ahin Ali called on the United Nations and all human rights organizations to carry out their humanitarian and legal duty towards the violations committed against the leader Ocalan in Imrali prison, calling on the people of Kurdistan to continue the struggle and ensure his physical freedom in 2023.

In the same context, the second phase of the campaign will address the campaign of collecting signatures, and she said: "A number of lawyers launched a campaign to collect signatures of jurists and lawyers in Kurdistan, in this July, to demand the physical freedom of the leader Ocalan, and this campaign has now been joined by more than 330 male and female lawyers, and they will continue to collect signatures, to cover the entire Middle East campaign, and to reach its goals of collecting the largest number of signatures.

She revealed the initiative's activities in the "Time for Freedom" campaign in its second phase, saying: "We are currently working on preparing a list of laws that the Turkish regime violates in Imrali in order to hand them over to the United Nations and to combat violence against torture and the general concerned authorities."

On September 10, 2020, the KCK announced the start of the “Time for Freedom” campaign, saying, “To end the danger that targets us, and in order to create a free and democratic life, we will start on September 12 our campaign in Kurdistan.” And all the countries where the Kurds are present under the slogan "Enough of isolation, fascism and occupation, time for freedom."
