​​​​​​​Women`s organizations in Tabqa condemnes targeting of commander Barin, Jiyan and Roj

The Zenobian Women`s Assembly held a meeting in condemnation of the genocidal attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation state against women. The Women's Coordination of the Civil Democratic Administration of Tabqa and its countryside, made a statement during the meeting.

The Coordination condemned the targeting of North East Syria`s women`s struggle and stated: “ The continuing attacks by the Turkish occupation state against the people of the region along with attempts of destroying the will of the people and destroying the democratic nation project, are carried out by targeting the leading personalities of this project.”

The statement was read by Hind Al-Ali, co-chair of the Administrative Council in front of the Civil Administration in Tabqa. In the statement, the importance of raising the level of struggle was pointed out in order to protect the gains and achievements of the Women`s Revolution in North and East Syria.

In light of the Turkish occupation state`s targeting of the YPJ commanders on July 22, the coordination stated that: “ The Turkish state attempts along with these cowardly attacks to halt the women`s struggle and to exstinguish its spark. They attempt to destroy the women`s organization along with its hope for a decent future for Syrian women. The enemy should be well aware that for each attempt to destroy the women`s project in North and East Syria, wil only increase the womens will to defend their project along with increasing their struggle.

The Women`s Coordination condemned the Turkish state`s targeting of the three martyrs (Jiyan Tolhildan, Roj Khabour and Barin Botan)

The Coordination condemnded the internationa community`s silence towards the crimes carried out by the Turkish state and its mercenaries and further stated that this is proof of them being complicit.

They concluded their statement by calling on all women in the word to stand against the mass genocidal attacks against women, the people around the world and the regions of the Autonomous Administration. They further called for women to increase their struggle and efforts to achieve women`s unity.

Several hundred women from Tabqa city participated in the demonstration which was organized by the Zenobian Women`s Assembly at the Martyrs Cemetary in Tabqa, along with condemning the attaks by the Turkish occupation state against North and East Syria.

During the demonstration, the Zenobian Women`s Assembly released a statement to the public. The statement was read by Nasrin Al-Muhammed, member of the Zenobian Women`s Assembly.

In the statement, it was pointed out that the Turkish occupation state feels threatened by the women`s struggle, thus targeting women with all available means in total disregard to international and humanitarian law.

The Zenobian Women`s Assembly pointed out that the failures by Turkish state resulted in military operations against the region and continued: “ They use cowardly methods and target the women of the struggle with armed UAV`s. In their latest attack, they targeted Jiyan Tolhildan, commander of the Anti Teror Units(YAT) along with commander Roj Khabour and Barin Botan.”

They also called on the international community to stand up to their humanitarian responsibilities in light of the recent attacks by the Turkish occupation and to impose a no-fly zone over the region in order to prevent access to the airspace for planes from the Turkish occupation.

They concluded their statement by calling for the protection of the gains made by the martyrs and to increase the level of struggle.
