American journalist Meghan Bodette: Consequences of any Turkish attack on NE Syria to harm everyone

 The Autonomous Administration, which took its first steps in Kobani on July 19, 2012, faces continuous attacks and genocidal plans by international and regional powers.

 The Rojava revolution, which was 10 years old, withstood all the attacks and threats, and consolidated its gains thanks to the resistance of the martyrs and the peoples continue unabated.

  Our agency interviewed American journalist Megan Bodett, who witnessed these gains.  Bodett opened her speech by noting that they will never forget the heroism of the Rojava Revolution.

 I will never forget that courage

Bodett, who visited the region once to learn about the historical and political situation in northern and eastern Syria, pointed out the extent to which she was influenced by the strength of the people of the region and their great passion for the revolution.

She congratulated the 10th anniversary of the Rojava revolution and said: "I have clearly seen the people's determination to resist for their future despite all the difficulties and threats. I will never forget that courage and defend it.”

 Bodett mentioned that the Rojava revolution has become a global revolution and said: “It is clear that the important impact of this revolution was not only on the region, but it also extended to the whole world. People everywhere found that fighting ISIS and the struggle to build a new political order in the Middle East has become an inspiration to solve global issues.Many people came from different countries and participated in different ways.Many other people also received information about the Kurdish struggle and the situation in Syria and started to move in their countries.On the other hand, the great support for North and East Syria abroad makes the state of Turkey seeks to neutralize it. European countries will stifle Kurdish solidarity activity. The attack launched by Turkey on northern and eastern Syria in 2019 aroused the anger and denunciation of the American public opinion, forcing America to change its position to stop the occupation process that allowed it to be launched.

 “If the project succeeds, it will become a substitute for the nation-state.”

 Journalist Bodett referred to the opposition of northern and eastern Syria to the standards of administration and politics in the region, and also indicated that there is an alternative in the form of the success of the self-management project. There are many governments that reject the existence of an alternative system like this, because it will crown their strength of their allies and prove that the political entity they have maintained for a century is no longer useful."

 The crimes of the occupiers must be documented

 Bodett is one of the founders of the Afrin Missing Women Project, which was established to document the crimes of the Turkish state and its mercenaries in Afrin and other occupied areas and their plans for demographic change.

Megan Bodett provided information on crimes committed in the occupied areas and described her research, saying, “Turkey and its allied militias committe systematic war crimes and violating human rights, targeting ethnic and religious minorities and women in the occupied areas. These violations in Afrin are part of a strategy of demographic change. They were almost forced to  all the indigenous people of the area to flee."

 Megan Bodett also said, "I take this matter very seriously and follow it closely and share this information with the people concerned. Documents confirming these attacks are necessary to ensure justice for people in the occupied territories and to implement legal strategies to hold Turkey and its proxies accountable."

 Its consequences will harm everyone

 The Turkish state, which was not satisfied with occupying a number of areas in northern and eastern Syria, threatens to launch a new occupation attack on the region.  Commenting on these threats, Megan Bodett indicated that the consequences of any new Turkish occupation attack would harm everyone.  She stated that Turkey is engaged in major diplomatic efforts for this.

 Megan Bodett continued, saying, "There is no government that supports the political entity of northern and eastern Syria, the real solution to the Syrian crisis and the end of the Turkish war on the Kurdish people. Conflicts continue because external forces achieve their interests at the expense of the people of the region. Today, major powers such as Russia and America take advantage of the stability of Northern Syria and benefiting from it. They expressed their objection to Erdogan’s threats, but there is no guarantee that their actions will match their words. And Turkey is engaged in serious diplomatic efforts to obtain the support of the United States, Europe, Russia and other countries in the Middle East to launch a new attack. And it can succeed because the countries always support  Other countries want to change the status quo. But if Turkey succeeds, the consequences of this will be very harmful to everyone."

Any new offensive will reinforce militarism

 Megan Bodett emphasized that any new offensive would undermine all efforts to end the Syrian war and noted that militarism would also strengthen.  The Syrian war. Any new Turkish offensive would reinforce nationalism and militarism."

 Everyone should stand against the Turkish occupation

 Megan Bodett called on all countries to stand against and prevent possible Turkish attacks, and stressed that the exclusion of northern and eastern Syria from political processes must stop.

 Megan Bodett concluded her speech by saying, "Governments must stand firmly against the Turkish occupation of north and east Syria and its peoples and take effective steps to cut the road ahead. They must withdraw their support for the Turkish war against the Kurdish movement by preventing arms sales to it and removing the name of the PKK from the "terror lists".  They should also pressure Turkey to stop its military preoccupation with the Kurdish community and develop a political solution instead, and Syria should stop excluding northern and eastern Syria from political processes to determine the country’s future, end the sanctions that destroy the country’s economy, promote the reconstruction process, and find a solution to the crisis by involving all Syrians.  Presenting all points of view.
