TEV-DEM condemns the Zakho massacre

Today, Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) issued a statement to the public opinion, condemning the Turkish occupation state's massacre in the Zakho region in southern Kurdistan, in which dozens martyred or wounded.

The statement reads, "The Turkish occupation state has once again committed criminal acts through its brutal bombing through modern planes, by targeting a civilian tourist resort in the Zakho region, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and injuries. This is not the first time that this has been committed, the fascist state is heinous massacres against Kurdish and Arab civilians, whether in the cities of Başûr Kurdistan, or in the cities of NE Syria.

The statement explained that the history of the Turkish occupation is full of massacres against civilians, " Turkish occupation has previously carried out such bombings against civilian gatherings of more than one area, which indicates the bad intentions of the terrorist Justice and Development government, which wants to impose its defeated fascist policy internally and externally on the will of the peaceful peoples. And this criminal operation came as a retaliatory response after the failure it exposed to at the Tehran summit, in which it lost its political balance as a result of its inability to persuade international parties to allow its military operations to be launched against the will of the peoples.

The statement added "the international community, led by the United Nations, which turns a blind eye to the overflights of the Turkish occupation state in the airspace of Başûr Kurdistan and Rojava directly and permanently, without considering any importance to the will of the peoples that defeated terrorism."

The statement called on "regional and international parties and the United Nations to carry out their moral responsibility and impose a no-fly zone decision to protect our regions from Turkish fascist warplanes."

In its conclusion, the statement called on "all societies, components of the region, civil society organizations and political and national forces, in general" to insist on unifying moral stances to raise the pace of struggle and resistance everywhere against the dirty policies that are being hatched against our will and the will of our peoples.
