​​​​​​​YPG: We will increase our achievements by our struggle, that will continue for years to come

General Command of the People's Protection Units (YPG), issued a statement to the public opinion on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the July 19 Revolution.

The statement reads:

On the tenth anniversary of the revolution, we first congratulate leader Apo, our martyrs, our people in the region, our fighters and all of humanity on the revolution of freedom; the July 19 revolution.

The revolution in Rojava completed its tenth year, drawing many historical lessons based on the principles of Leader Apo's Pradigma and the efforts of thousands of martyrs. With the exception of the Rojava revolution, no other revolution in the world faced all these difficulties during its first ten years. Regardless of its shortcomings in practice, it resisted all forms of hostile attacks.

The Rojava Revolution has gone beyond expectations, during its first years, it achieved and gained the international character. Especially since our fight against ISIS, which culminated in Kobani resistance, has affected all parts of the world, and hundreds of youth freedom advocates and fighters from around the world joined the ranks of People's Protection Units and Women's Protection Units. Undoubtedly, they were not only affected on the military level, but found that the solution to capitalist modernity that divides societies, especially the youth, is to join the Rojava revolution. Dozens of the internationalists were martyred on various dates in our war against the occupiers. And on this occasion, we remember our martyrs once again.

There is no doubt that the Rojava revolution is known as the free woman. Leader Apo said: "Rojava's revolution is the revolution of women." Because women have fallen behind in all areas of life due to the dominant male mentality, and their role has not been defined. She was armed with the ideas and philosophy of the leader Apo and became the leader of Rojava revolution. And defined its role in all areas of life and the military field as well.

With the formation of the women's military forces and the building of the democratic system of Autonomous-Administration, it took on the primary role, and trained the community in NE Syria on the environmental approach, democracy and women's freedom.

Despite these developments that were achieved during the 10 years of the Rojava revolution, and despite all the difficulties, there are still problems that need to be resolved. Our achievements have become the target of Turkish occupation state and the forces that do not want to build a peaceful and stable life in our region since the beginning of our revolution. And the peoples of the region, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Turkmen and many other beliefs, are fighting an unparalleled resistance in order to preserve and defend their achievements and the democratic system established by the peoples. We repeat here once again that we will certainly fulfill the pledge of victory for freedom, which we made to our peoples.

We once again congratulate all of humanity on the tenth anniversary of the Rojava Revolution, we are all hopeful and confident that we will celebrate with our peoples many victories and increase our achievements with our struggle that will continue for years to come."
