TEV DEM in Afrin region calls on Syrians to take a united stand against Turkish occupation

Dozens of TEV DEM members of Afrin gathered in Serdam camp of Al-Ahdath district in Shahba Canton, carrying pictures of Tal Rifaat and Aqiba massacres, and the flags of Democratic Society Movement, to make a statement.

The statement reads:

"After Turkey intervened in Syrian revolution and transformed its path from a peaceful revolution to an armed one to serve its agendas in Syria, Middle East and the world, and took advantage of international contradictions between Russian Federation and America and occupied large parts of Syrian territory. Afrin was the victim of those contradictions, and after the forcible displacement of the people of Afrin to Shahba areas and from 4 years ago and the barbaric and indiscriminate bombing of IDPs of Afrin and the people of the region did not stop. Turkey and its mercenaries did not stop the bombing until it began threatening to occupy Shahba areas to approach, little by little, to occupy the city of Aleppo and to commit massacres against the IDPs and the people of Nubil and Zahraa."

The statement called for standing against Turkey's ambitions in Syrian territory, and said: "We in Democratic Society Movement and civil society organizations in Shahba areas call on all Syrian people and all its components to stand united against Brotherhood's project that aims to restore Mille Charter and old Ottoman glory."

And also called on Syrian government, all international and human rights organizations, UN Security Council, United Nations and the guarantor countries to immediately intervene to deter Turkey from committing more massacres against Syrian people.
