Most of them are leaders, SDF arrests 17 ISIS mercenaries during June

SDF's Media Center issued a statement today, revealing the outcome of the security operations against ISIS mercenaries during the month of June in northern and eastern Syria, which read:

" Our forces carried out a precise security operation against ISIS terrorist hideouts and managed to arrest 17 members of the terrorist organization, most of whom are leaders, in addition to killing of two leaders, who planned to carry out operations.

Our forces also seized a large number of weapons, military equipment and communication devices that were in the possession of the terrorists, while it was confirmed, through their confessions during interrogation, that they were in contact with their leaders in the areas occupied by Turkey in northern and eastern Syria, especially Serêkaniyê/Ras al-Ain and Girê Spî.

On May 30, our forces launched a combing campaign against the sleeper cells of the terrorist organization "ISIS" in the town of Markada in the eastern countryside of Hasaka, during which they were able to arrest 4 terrorists, including an "Emir", and also seized a number of weapons and military equipment. And communication devices, as they were seized: “3 Kalashnikov weapons, one war pistol, 10 cellular communication devices, one bombshell weapon, two binoculars, one video camera, and an internet communication device (Wi-Fi).”

On June 08, the anti-terror units of our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, arrested a mercenary of the terrorist organization ISIS, who was responsible for the recruitment of potential terrorists, in addition to carrying out intelligence work.

On Friday, June 17, the special units of our forces carried out a security operation against an ISIS terrorist cell in the countryside of Markada, south of Hasaka, adjacent to the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The operation, in which the international coalition forces participated with the support of air surveillance, targeted a leader in the village of "Al-Sa'dah", south of "Markada", who belongs to the cells of the terrorist organization "ISIS".

On Sunday, June 19, our forces carried out a security operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, with the support of the international coalition forces. The operation took place in the village of "Al-Hajna" near the town of "Al-Busira", and targeted a local leader of the terrorist organization "ISIS", who was active in transporting and smuggling elements of the terrorist organization.

As part of its operations to pursue ISIS terrorist cells; On Sunday, June 19, the special units of our forces carried out a security operation against the gangs of the terrorist organization in the Tabqa area in the western countryside of Raqqa, with the participation of the international coalition forces.

The operation took place near the village of "Al-Jarniyah" in the countryside of Tabqa city, and targeted a former leader of the "ISIS" terrorist organization.

On Saturday, June 25, the special units of our forces, with the support of the international coalition forces, carried out a security operation near the town of "Al-Busira", in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The operation targeted a local leader of the terrorist organization ISIS, who was active in transferring cell members, especially suicide bombers, as he intended to provide them with weapons and equipment necessary to carry out bombings in areas of the Hasaka and Deir Ezzor countryside, and various areas in North and East Syria.

On Sunday, June 26th; The special units of our forces carried out a precise security operation targeting a local leader in the terrorist organization "ISIS", the operation took place in Al-Aziziya neighborhood in Al-Hasakah city, and targeted a leader who was active in transporting explosive devices and bicycle bombs to Al-Hasakah and other areas in NE Syria, in addition to transporting members of the terrorist organization “ISIS” and smuggling the families of foreign leaders from Al-Hol camp.

It is worth noting that the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration in NE Syria have repeatedly warned the international community, especially the active forces in the Syrian crisis, led by the United States of America and Russia, against reviving the terrorist organization "ISIS" by Turkey. On Wednesday, 29 June; The counter-terrorism units of our forces carried out a security operation against a sleeper cell of the terrorist organization “ISIS” in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor. It led to the killing of two suspected gangs of the terrorist cell.

Our forces remind once again that the continuous threats launched by the Turkish occupying state will negatively affect our operations against ISIS, and will open the way for other terrorist organizations such as "Huras al-Din" and "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham"
