TEV-DEM: We will resist any Turkish incursion

During the protest, the Democratic Society Movement made a statement, condemning the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and the international silence.

The statement was read in Arabic by the administrator of the Women's Office in the Movement for a Democratic Society, Zainab Hassan, and in Kurdish by the co-chair of the Union of Intellectuals in the Jazira Region, Kardiyar Derai.

The statement called on " human rights organizations and associations, foremost of which is the United Nations, to carry out their tasks and implement its laws that stipulate the right of peoples to self-determination and protection cultures and peoples from threats of genocide and deliberate meltdown in the world."

The statement stressed, "Any Turkish attack on our areas will cause a humanitarian disaster and bloody massacres, as the terrorist Justice and Development government wants to kill us in cold blood. Turkey's experiences in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, evidence of its criminality, amid the dubious silence of the international community.

The statement stressed, "We institutions and unions of civil society organizations in Al-jazira region see that the situation is very dangerous and is heading for the worse, especially by the fascist Turkish state which targets our symbols, leaders and national and social figures.
