The Turkish occupation state continues to threaten to occupy new areas in northern and eastern Syria, as its occupation attacks have not stopped throughout the region.  In addition to this, the processes of demographic change continue in the occupied territories.  In return for these threats, the Kurdish people and the peoples of northern and eastern Syria in general, in addition to their fighters, are moving within the framework of the revolutionary war of the people.

The spokesman for the People's Protection Units, Nuri Mahmoud, spoke to our agency about the attacks and threats of the Turkish state and its mercenaries.

Nuri Mahmoud explained that it seems that the Turkish state has received the green light for the attacks. He said, "The Kurdish areas in Rojava are the first target for the occupiers now, but Aleppo, Mosul and Kirkuk will follow later."

 'We take threats seriously'

Nuri Mahmoud clarified that they take the threats of the Justice and Development Party government and the National Movement on northern and eastern Syria seriously. He mentioned the reasons for this, saying: "The first reason is that the Turkish government can no longer control its crises. The other reason is  the ability of north and east Syria to protect the democratic revolution and make it a model to be emulated in Syria. This is what constituted an obstacle to Erdogan's fascist and jihadist projects. Therefore, the possibility of launching any attack is a serious possibility, as there is no other solution left for this regime but this.It wants to eliminate this project on the one hand and the re-map of the Milli Pact on the other. The living situation of the Turkish people is very bad, and the corruption practiced by the AKP system and the National Movement inside Turkey will turn against it if there is no war.The war is also important for this system to enable the continuation the state of emergency in Turkey and obligating all opposing parties to remain silent through it. For these reasons, these threats are very serious."

Looks like they got the go-ahead in some places.

“More than just a possibility, Erdogan is doing his best to persuade the world to launch this attack.”  With these words, Nuri Mahmoud indicated that Erdogan was waiting for an opportunity to launch his attack, and continued, “Turkey is a candidate for membership in the European Union, as well as a member of NATO. It wants to take advantage of this matter. Even if it does not have enough capabilities, it will wage this war by relying on Europe and NATO.”  He will attack if he has the chance, and of course. Apparently they got the green light in some places."

The Kurdish areas are the first target, but...

In order for the Turkish state to legalize its occupation, it always talks about securing the borders.  Nuri Mahmoud commented on these statements of the occupiers, noting that Erdogan's intention goes beyond the question of borders undoubtedly, and that the real intention is to reach Aleppo, Kirkuk and Mosul.  Nuri Mahmoud also referred to the areas under threat, saying: "The goal is to rebuild the Milli charter map again, and then move to the Ottoman map. But why target our areas in particular? Because these border areas are Kurdish areas. Democratic projects have developed in this area.  "It is capable of bringing the Syrian components under its banner. That is why it first wants to eliminate this area in order to be able to achieve its other goals. The Kurdish areas in Rojava are its first target now, but Aleppo, Mosul and Kirkuk will follow."

"There are two and a half million refugees in our regions"

Nuri Mahmoud commented on the Turkish state's policies regarding refugees and their resettlement, saying: "Before now, they brought all these refugees from Ghouta and other areas and settled them in Afrin. They carried out demographic change in the occupied areas. They also deployed international mercenaries. For example, they were stationed in these areas.  Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Abu Ibrahim al-Quraishi and many leaders of ISIS, al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood.Turkish groups with different names are stationed there, and therefore they want to implement the same thing now in the Autonomous Administration areas. The world also knows that there are more than two and a half million Syrian refugees in our areas.  From governorates such as Deir ez-Zor, Homs, Idlib and Damascus.Forty percent of the Syrian population lives in these areas. This is why these refugees should return to their homes and not to areas subject to demographic change and thwart Erdogan's pretexts such as the ability to secure borders.  Returning Syrian refugees to Syria and eliminating the project that managed to bring Syrian society under its banner and became a hope for the Syrian people.”

 'Act according to agreement'

Nuri Mahmoud referred to the position of the Damascus government and the guarantor powers in the region against the policies and threats of the Turkish state, saying: "The Damascus government does not have enough will to do anything. Some Syrian forces are stationed in our areas now thanks to Russia, and this is mediated by Russia. Because they are more than the regime's forces.  It belongs to the guarantor powers Russia, the United States or the international coalition. After the Serêkaniyê war, an agreement was made according to which these guarantor countries move. They should assume their duties."

 "We don't attack, they do"

Nuri Mahmoud explained that the Turkish state's pretexts are flimsy, and said: "America and Russia are also witnesses to the Turkish army's use of the capabilities of NATO, and its daily attack on Rojava using the latest weapons and advanced technologies. These attacks target citizens, children, workers in the Autonomous Administration,  The Turkish state commits thousands of violations in our areas using NATO technologies, and the international community is witness to this. Therefore, it is not true that they say that we are the ones who attack, they are the ones who attack, as it launches ground attacks on the area from Ain Issa to Tal Tamr, Al Shahba and Tal Rifaat  ".

"This war will not be like the war of Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî."

Nuri Mahmoud stated that in the event of any war breaking out, it will face a different method, will and determination. He continued, "There is no doubt that our position is the position of the Revolutionary People's War. Our forces will move in the People's Protection Units, the Women's Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces all as an institution that assumed responsibility for the legitimate defense derived from  the revolution in this context. Our forces gained a great experience after the wars of Afrin, Sere Kaniyeh and Gire Spi and organized themselves accordingly to be able to defend the region. If any war breaks out, it will not be like the war of Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Gire Spi, but rather a different style, will and determination will appear in its face.  ".

“The people will defend their values and achievements.”

Nuri Mahmoud called on the people of the region to organize themselves according to this fact and said: “Just as it defended itself against ISIS terrorism, and won and gathered the Syrian and international community around him, he must now defeat the fascism, extremism and terrorism of the Turkish state and the remaining groups of remnants of al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood once again.”  I believe that our people and our forces have a strong conviction based on their strength and that they will defend their values and achievements."
