​​​​​​​PYD holds a meeting with sheikhs and dignitaries of Raqqa and Tabqa

 The meeting was attended by a number of sheikhs and dignitaries of clans in Raqqa and Tabqa, the joint presidency of the party and party members.

 The meeting began with a minute of silence, then a member of the Democratic Union Party, Khaled Khoja, introduced the party and its principles of work, adding: "The party had a major role in liberating the region from ISIS mercenaries and had a major role in establishing the Autonomous Administration." 

 In turn, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hasso, explained the latest political developments in the region and said: "The outstanding problems in the Middle East can only be resolved by solving the Kurdish issue in Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran."

 She added: "There must be a clear vision to solve all the thorny issues in the region at the level of Syria in particular and the Middle East in general, and what Turkey is doing today in terms of wars and settlements on Syrian lands is to restore the glories of the Ottoman Empire and it is trying to expand in the region in general, whether in Syria or  other countries".

 Hasso explained, "The dialogue tables and conferences that were held did not contribute to solving the Syrian crisis, and the solutions proposed by these conferences made the crisis exacerbate militarily, and the only solution to the Syrian crisis is the Syrian-Syrian dialogue table."

 In the end, the sheikhs and dignitaries of the Arab clans in Raqqa and Tabqa made a statement to the public opinion, which was read by the notable of the Al-Akidat clan, Sheikh Sultan Al-Akidi. The text of the statement stated:

 “In the name of the sheikhs and clans of the Syrian canton of Raqqa and with the participation of the Syrian Democratic Party, we condemn and denounce Erdogan’s criminal project and his terrorist government that occupies parts of Syria. The goal of the Turkish Justice and Development Party and its mercenaries is to divide Syria to implement systematic demographic change and the displacement of the indigenous population in each of (Afrin - Tal Abyad - Serêkaniyê).  - Ras Al Ain)

 The statement added, "The Turkish state has always played bad, arbitrary roles, reaching its lands to various factions and organizations and supporting all their names and addresses without any respect for international laws and norms and good neighborliness, as it did not stop at the limits of intelligence and logistical support for terrorist groups."

 The statement indicated, “But it has blatantly and directly intervened to occupy vast areas of Syrian territory and create safe havens for the terrorist force, disregarding all international laws and norms and carrying out daily violations that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity by creating a new occupation reality similar to what happened in Iskenderun and Cyprus.  The project of returning more than one million Syrian refugees and resettling them in an occupied border area, expelling the original population, demographic change, destroying archaeological monuments, and seeking to turkish the region and erase its historical identity under the pretext of voluntary return.

 In its conclusion, the statement called on the international community, the United Nations, human rights organizations and the international coalition to stand up to the Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries and work to liberate all occupied lands to defeat organized terrorism and not allow terrorist organizations supported by the Turkish state to strike at civil peace, the Syrian fabric and coexistence.
