Girê Spi IDPs condemn Turkey's demographic change in occupied areas

Girê Spi IDPs denounced the Turkish occupation plans to build settlements in their occupied areas, where they called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and put an end to these plots.

The statement condemned deporting nearly one million Syrian refugees from its lands and resettle them in the areas which occupied by force of arms amid inaction of the International Community.

The displaced stressed their refusal to settle refugees in their areas because it would lead to discord and strife among the Syrian components, it would be better for every refugee and displaced to return to his original homeland, not to seize the land of others.

Worth to note that Turkey had displaced more than 100,000 citizens from the canton of Girê Spi and its countryside after occupying the canton following its brutal aggression which launched against North and East Syria on the 9th of October of the year 2019.

Nearly 6 thousand displaced people live in the Girê Spi camp, while the rest are distributed in the cities of Raqqa and Tabqa and whole NE Syria.
