Officials: Turkish attack represents political failure

Statesmen in North and East Syria confirmed that the joint annihilation attack carried out by the Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party against the Peoples' Defense Forces, the HPG, is a political insolvency and the guerrilla fighters engaged in a war of to be or not to be.

Since 17 April Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party carry out heavy and violent attacks against the guerrilla forces in the Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan.

The attack came three days after the visit paid by the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government and meeting both Turkish president Recep Tayip Erdogan and the head of the Turkish Intelligence Services, Hakan Fidan. PDK sent a large force to the Medya Defense Forces in Southern Kurdistan to take part in the attack.

On the background of the attack Co-chair of the Movement for a Democratic Society in the Euphrates Region Osman Khelef, who told ANHA:

''the Turkish state is based on the mentality of antagonism to the Kurdish people in the four parts of Kurdistan and more notably in Southern Kurdistan and Rojava. In Northern Kurdistan the repression is so intense. The intensity of attacks and threats have increased against the region by the Turkish occupation state with the aim to eradicate the freedom movement that defends the medya defense zones in Southern Kurdistan.

Khelef confirmed that in spite of the repeated attacks by the Turkish occupation state with heavy and highly advanced weapons using even chemical gases the occupation aim is not achieved. The Turkish state in Northern Kurdistan practises the repression policy and arrests every one that dares to demand freedom of people and the attacks on the medya defense zones is a policy for the Turkish state to hide its failures in front on the public opinion inside Turkey and preparing for the next elections. All this owes to political and military failures''.

From his part, member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party Remzi Sheikhmous said the annihilation campaign that i9s adopted by the Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party came after the Kurdish question made an international one; this serves the interest of the Justice and Development Party.

Remzi indicated that ''it is the guerrilla fighters that defends the Kurdish question indicating that the Turkish fight against the guerrilla fighters is targeting the Kurds and Turkey seeks to occupy lands and revive the Ottoman Empire in the region''.

On the cooperation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with the Turkish occupation state Rezi Sheikhmous said ''when the Afrin Canton was occupied the PDK participation was not open with the enemy but now it is open. And it betrays the urdish people openly and aims to destroy their fight via t=its participation with the Turkish occupation state in the attacks on the guerrilla fighters''.

Sheikhmous'' condemned the policy adopted by the Barzani family in Southern Kurdistan and the damages it causes to the Kurdish people and making it clear that their interests is above that of the people''.

From her part, Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Civil Administration of the city of Manbij and its countryside Nura Hamed, said: ''the Turkish occupation state seeks to destabilize the region and strike at the security and peace prevailing the North and East Syria to deport the remaining people there from their homes to materialize on the ground its scheme of occupation''.

Nura said that the strikes carried out by the Turkish occupation drones against the North and East of Syria people aim to break the will of NES people.

Nura said: ''the use of drones by the Turkish occupation state represents its impotence and failure in front of the resistance put up by the guerrilla fighters. It targets civilians and properties.

Peoples of North and East Syria fought heroically and bravely the terrorists. This perturbed the Turkish occupation state.

Nura lashed out at the ''silence preserved by the international community towards the crimes committed against citizens calling it to intervene and stop it and to prevent Ottoman schemes revive''.
